We hosted an E-Waste collection event, and Hemphill turned out big!
Hemphill residents showed up in force at Rescue Recycle’s latest e-waste collection drive, donating 1,800 pounds of unwanted electronics for responsible processing. All material was transported to STS Electronic Recycling, Inc. in Jacksonville, Texas, for downstream handling, ensuring devices are kept out of landfills and managed the right way.
The event was hosted at Rebecca Felts Insurance Agency LLC, whose location made for an easy, in-and-out drop-off. “Events like this only work when local partners open their doors and neighbors bring what they’ve been meaning to recycle,” said the Rescue Recycle team after the drive. “Hemphill did both.”

Why Events Like This Matter
Every device that’s recycled instead of trashed helps keep hazardous materials out of landfills and supports a healthier environment for our communities. From retired laptops to tangled cords, proper recycling reduces the risk of toxins leaching into soil and waterways while returning valuable materials to the circular economy.

Rescue Recycle’s mission goes a step further: “Giving Electronics a Second Life and Animals a Second Chance.” Proceeds from device recovery help support animal rescues.
Making a real-world difference for pets in need through everyday decluttering.
