In May 2026, Rescue Recycle donated $500 to Best Friends Animal Society to help support their work with homeless pets across the country.
At Rescue Recycle, one of the goals behind our electronics recycling and reuse program has always been to create opportunities to give back through something we already know well: giving handheld electronics a second life whenever possible.
Best Friends Animal Society is a national animal welfare organization focused on reducing shelter euthanasia and helping save the lives of dogs and cats in need through adoption, rescue, education, and advocacy efforts.
Through Rescue Recycle’s nationwide mail-in electronics recycling and reuse program, phones and tablets that can still be used are refurbished and kept in circulation whenever possible, while unusable electronics are responsibly recycled through downstream recycling partners.
A portion of proceeds from reusable devices help support animal welfare organizations, and we are incredibly grateful for the work Best Friends continues to do for animals nationwide.
This donation was made possible by everyone across the country who has chosen to recycle a device through RescueRecycle.com, and we truly appreciate the continued support of our program.
Program Impact So Far
Since January 2025, our nationwide mail-in electronics recycling and reuse program has:
- Received 168 mail-in recycling shipments containing over 1000 devices
- Helped keep reusable electronics in circulation, with 192 devices refurbished and rehomed
- Responsibly recycled over 300 pounds of non-reusable handheld electronics through our mail-in program
- Donated $1,500 toward animal welfare organizations
Every recycled device helps support both responsible electronics reuse and animal welfare efforts, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported our mission.
